Lighting

Why choose LED lighting?

  • Much more energy efficient than traditional lamps

  • Can reduce your energy bills

  • Longer lifetimes so reduced maintenance costs

  • No warm up time to reach optimal brightness, unlike fluorescents

  • Enhanced and improved light levels

  • Noise free, flicker free, unlike some fluorescents

  • Durability - impact resistant, better for outdoor & security lighting

Kitchen Lighting

Improving the appearance of a kitchen can often be achieved by simple LED upgrades to the lighting.

This customer’s original 20W halogen spotlights were dull and tired and not complementing the refurbished kitchen units.

Replacing these with brighter, crisper LED’s both improved effectiveness of the lighting and enhanced the kitchen’s modern colour scheme.

Flood Lights

This customer needed a faulty floodlight repaired above a loading bay roller door. Discussion of requirements revealed the purpose of the light was for forklift loading of goods for dispatch onto lorries outside the roller door. This generally takes place between 6pm and 8pm Monday to Friday, which for around half of the year means it’s dark at some point. A similar unloading of arriving goods also takes place at intervals between 3am and 5am each weekday morning.

The original light was a 250W metal halide fitting, controlled via a photocell such that it came on at dusk and remained on until after daybreak the following morning.

We recommended changing the faulty fitting to an equivalent 200W LED version, and adding a motion sensor so as the light would switch off 15 minutes after any activity outside the roller door finished. The customer’s need to ensure there was always adequate lighting for workers was still facilitated, with the benefits of energy savings from both using a 20% more efficient source of light, but more significantly by only having this light on during the periods when it was actually needed.

Spot Lights

Simple, cost effective, kitchen lighting upgrade – the original two 20W halogen spotlights over this sink worktop were replaced with LED 3W versions, and then a further three were added in. The five new spotlights provided both a brighter and more even spread of light across the work-surface yet still reduced the overall energy consumption from 40W to 15W.

BUSINESS PREMISES

Replacing traditional commercial ceiling lights - typically having 4 x 18W fluorescent tubes - with 30W LED panels gives a 42% reduction in energy consumption per fitting.

A typical shop unit or office with 12 ceiling lights, switched on for 40 hrs per week, could save around £140 per year on their electric bill.
  • Flat, sleek, modern aesthetic.

  • No flickering tubes or humming noises.

  • Longer lifetime - less maintenance.

HOUSE RE-WIRE

Outdoor Lighting

This new owner wanted a quick and easy, cost-effective improvement to the lighting at the rear of his recently purchased house. The original overdoor outside light was removed and replaced with a simple security floodlight with a movement sensor, relocated for better functionality.
